The consortium of the SULEAP project comprises of organisations from countries with active leather production and the partners are all experts in supporting and applying technology transfer to the leather micro-enterprises and SMEs. All partners in the project are eager to act as multiplier actors and a bridge between state of art knowledge of Europe and the industry.
CENTRO TECNOLÓGICO DAS INDÚSTRIAS DO COURO (PORTUGAL)
The Portuguese Technological Centre for the Leather Industry was formally created in 1992. CTIC provides scientific and technological support to the leather sector, assuming a predominant role in the implementation of new technologies and processes, in the research and development, sustainability, circular economy and environment preservation, which leads the sector to the technical sophistication, innovation, process rationalisation, cost reduction, productivity gains and differentiation.
UNIVERSIDAD DE LLEIDA (SPAIN)
The A3 Leather Innovation Center – University of Lleida (UdL) is a research group based at the Campus of the University of Igualada. A3 Center focuses on innovation, quality and the environment, and offers training, research, technology transfer and dissemination, with a cross-cutting approach, with a special emphasis on the sustainability of manufacturing processes and the application of new technologies and advanced materials. The activities of A3 Center are aimed at the entire value chain of the leather sector to incorporate innovative and sustainable leather articles in the market to improve the competitiveness of companies.
C.G.S. DI COLUCCIA MICHELE & C. S.A.S. (ITALY)
CGS was established in 1990 and has worked for over twenty-five years in the fields of applied research, industrial consulting and civil engineering. The wish of CGS and its real working strategy consists in accomplishing interventions in order to reduce the traditional gap between innovation and actual application, in other words between research and industry. In order to achieve this objective, CGS has followed three different lines: technical, financial, management. CGS has embraced extremely different research sectors and has developed an effective working method and a smart system of relations with companies, universities, research centres.
EGE UNIVERSITY (TURKEY)
Ege University is a 66 years old state university. It is a research-based, teaching-oriented institution, training students up to the Doctorate level. The Leather Engineering program at Ege University has engineering courses, including engineering faculty basic training principles, together with vocational courses and practices. The department has graduated 599 bachelors and 66 post- graduate students till now, who has served in important roles in the leather industry. Currently, 175 graduate, 18 MSc, and 13 Ph.D. students are continuing their education in the department.
VIRTUAL CAMPUS LDA (PORTUGAL)
Virtual Campus is a development, training and consulting SME in the area of Technology Enhanced Learning. Its vision is to actively promote the development of the Knowledge Society by supporting public and private entities in the process of designing and developing learning strategies and projects that lead to increased societal benefits. Virtual Campus has successfully produced e-learning contents, online courses (MOOCs) and serious games for different platforms (desktops, mobile, tablet), in different environments (online, standalone) for different purposes (vocational training, emergency services, higher education, secondary education) and in different scopes (European projects, client contracts).
CREATIVE THINKING DEVELOPMENT (GREECE)
CRE.THI.DEV. is a Greek non-profit company aiming at community development through research and development of action plans, focused on the local and social economies, mainly on the fields of life-long learning, employment, sports, environmental protection and local development. The company establishes close cooperation with local and regional authorities, government authorities and business associations in order to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
DETEK – DERI TECKNOLOGLARI TEKNISYENLERI VE KIMYACILARI DERNEGI (TURKEY)
DETEK Deri Teknologlari Teknisyenleri ve Kimyacilari Dernegi (Association of Leather Technicians and Chemists) was established in 1995 to support techinal and academical infrastructure of Turkish Leather Industry, enforce to integrate this worldwide and support to their improvement with its members who are most qualified in technical and academical staff as in technicans and engineers. DETEK supports ISO,ISO EN standarts on their approvement and update stages and determine Standart Test Methods.
SIEC BADAWCZA LUKASIEWICZ - INSTYTUT PRZEMYSLU SKORZANEGO (POLAND)
The Institute of Leather Industry is an organisation working with Polish footwear SME industry and providing them full service based on: innovative technology, implementation new production techniques, laboratory skills together with testing materials and ready-made footwear according ISO and EN standards in Accredited Laboratory. The Institute works at the institutional units and other research institutes. Leather Industry Institute (IPS) has been participating in numerous national and international research projects with various research and industrial partners.
D. ARVANITOPOULOS & SONS S.A (GREECE)
D. Arvanitopoulos & Sons S.A was founded in 1986 with the main purpose of producing and trading chemical products. The areas of activity of the company focused mainly on chemicals for leather and footwear industry. Always guided by the quality of its products and based on its scientific staff, D. ARVANITOPOULOS & SONS SA has become a pioneering force in the field of leather chemicals. Its privately-owned facilities in the area of Ag. I Rentis (900 sqm) houses its functional production unit in the chemical sector, as well as a quality control laboratory fully equipped with all the necessary instruments.
